Let me introduce myself: I am the principal consultant at Farm Dynamics and my name is Malcolm Cock. My career as a professional livestock farmer and now also as an agricultural consultant is enjoyable, challenging, profitable and a continual learning curve!
I believe people are the main drivers for any operation, therefore my extensive experience and training in working with people in agriculture is a major asset in recognizing and achieving the aims of the client.

My breadth of knowledge, experience and training helps to provide a high standard of service, but I recognize the need to refer to others in some areas.

My understanding of the role of a Agricultural Consultant:

  • Full member of Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology and as a member abide by its Code of Ethics
  • I feel people are more able to handle change if they feel empowered to make decisions
  • They are more likely to implement change by making decisions if they can see their business situation and options set out clearly
  • Facilitating understanding of current financials and operational options for a desired change
  • The consultant’s role is advising on options for clients directions / decisions
  • Clear understanding on requirements for purchasing farming properties, having successfully purchased and sold a number of farming properties of different sizes
  • Providing clients with written reports that are: well researched, clearly understood and dynamic, with options that suit the clients’ situation

  • Grew up on a dairy and beef farm in the Yarra Valley

  • Various jobs: contracting, working in various farming operations including beef, sheep & dairy in Scotland
  • Managing a dynamic and successful family medium scale beef & sheep farm operations at Buchan, Victoria

  • Partner in a company providing genetics and advice in a beef breeding operation in Russia
  • Now operating: Farm Dynamics Consulting and Amberley Park Beef at Leongatha, Victoria
